The Beginning of a New Site

Friday 3rd July Day 101

Eastbourne Beach

Before I begin today’s Diary, I should say that as from today I have a brand-new website. You may remember the struggles I had setting it up a while back! Now my daughter has stepped in and has put me on the right track, well more than that actually, she’s set up the whole darn thing! It seems I am a User, not a Programmer but at least I tried.

The new site is www.pennywortlife.com If you see a picture that resembles the one above you’ll know you’re in the right place! Hopefully Facebook-wise the change will be seamless and anyway I shall continue with the Simplesite website alongside it for the moment. You can also find me on Twitter @PennysDiary and on Instagram and I would be delighted if you would ‘share.’

If you haven’t dropped off by now, here is today’s Diary entry: –

2.00 Just can’t sleep, listened to the radio, read a magazine and now I give up and start watching a film I have meant to watch, Fisherman’s Friends. I only meant to watch a little of it and then try for sleep again but get hooked and watch it all the way through. Sleep still doesn’t come easily but at least on and off until :-

7.00 I’m wide awake again and oddly feel as if I have had a reasonable night’s sleep. I am leaving for Eastbourne at ten this morning to meet up with my friend Paula in her back garden for coffee and a catch up. It’s not the brightest of days but at least we are promised no rain.

9.00 A friend I haven’t been in touch with for a while phones and we chat for a good half hour until I tell her that I am due to go out soon and then we carry on chatting for another ten minutes which gives me no time to do much other than empty the dishwasher and rush around with the hoover, which is having to be done sometimes twice a day at the moment because Audrey is doing a moult. Not sure why, as she has lost her winter coat a couple of months ago and a bit early for losing her summer one but either way, I’m getting swathes of black fur on my light carpets.

10.40 I arrive at Paula’s house on the outskirts of Eastbourne, ten minutes late but she doesn’t seem to mind and presents me with a lovely chocolate twisty thing all wrapped in special cellophane to have with my coffee. Will power deserts me as it always does at such times and I eat every crumb. It’s lovely, as I know I often say, to be in a different environment for a couple of hours and feel a bit normal.

14.15 Audrey greets me in much the same way as if I had been away for a year or so, she’s just not used to me leaving her for any amount of time these days and she gets very upset about it and does a lot of leaning against me which is her way. No doubt she will begin to get used to it again. For the rest of the afternoon she will get all the attention she desires. After helping me to mow the lawn with the careful ball placing! We will go off for a good long ramble followed by dinner.
